Red beech burl found in the surf at Barn Bay, Fiordland National Park. Turned to 8 mm wall thickness to ensure it stayed intact then finished with the Beall system. Dia 280 mm x 160 mm at the highest point.

A tall vase inspired by vases of the Ming Dynasty. The body is sycamore deep carved then finished with limewash and highlighted with copper guilders wax. The base and neck are red beech burl finished with Beall. Dia 200mmx120mm.

Inspired by a Japanese long spout teapot like those in tea houses. Made entirely of macrocarpa with pyro basket weave and ball point designs. The gingko design uses polygraphic pencils with a final coat of polyurethane. Dia 160mm x 180mm.

Inspired by the deity Hinepūtēhue this is an interpretation of a Māori gourd. Turned from sycamore then hollowed and carved to form the neck. The neck has stylised pyrographic moko kauae and the piece is completed with korowai. Dia 220mmx150mm.

Inspired by a stove top kettle which has once served well but is now a little unloved. Except the handle, it is sycamore. The body and lid are turned and the spout carved. Its tarnished with aged metal paints. Dia200mmx170mm.

Inspired by steampunk. The piece is macrocarpa turned through multiple axes. The spout is turned with an eccentric chuck. The handle, lid and base are carved. The gears on the body are relief carved then highlighted with guilding wax. Dia170mmx200mm.
