Tawhai (silver beech) Ladle

Short handled ladle carved by hand from a bent branch of Tawhai. Carved using only hand tools, axe, adze, sloyd knife and spoon knives. Tool finished (no sanding), then burnished and oiled with linseed oil. Approximately 25cm long 7cm wide.

Wobbly caterpillar

Wobbly caterpillar, Californian Redwood from Gabriel storm damage February 2023. Glass marble eyes, 8mm dowel axles capped with Redwood (3 mm spigot into axle end) wheels off centre to make wobbly. Cord fixed internally to prevent overstretching.  430 mm long.
